Want to be a Young Editor?
An Editorial Group aged between 11-25 meets monthly and are responsible for writing, reporting, photographing, designing, promoting and anything else they feel should be included. They also make decisions on content and technical changes.
Possible tasks for a Editorial Team Member
- To attend editorial meetings, usually once a month in the evening or on a Saturday.
- To assist with the development and maintenance of the Young Flintshire Website and work alongside the other young people on the editorial group.
- Assist with the development of publicity materials for the website.
- Writing and editing articles for the site
- Develop stories, information and other contents
- Review films, events and gigs
- Setting and enforcing deadlines
- Assisting with website budget management
- Share chocolate, drink tea and have fun!
- Any other tasks agreed by the group
We need people who are…
- Creative
- Interested in media, information, journalism, web design.
- Willing to undertake training alongside the role
What you get out of it
- Volunteering experience and awards
- Training and experience in journalism
The group are supported by staff from Flintshire Youth Service, Flintshire Youth Information Services, Flintshire Local Voluntary Council (FLVC) and Flintshire Children & Young People’s Partnership (CYPP).
