It is normal for families to have Problems
Often these are easily resolved, or blow over. When this does not happen however, Family Counselling may be able to help:
Parents/Carers and children/teenagers who are finding it difficult to talk to each other.
Parents/Carers who can not agree on the best way to parent.
Children/young people struggling with sibling relations, friendships, problems at school.
Step families managing different family groups.
Coping with separation/divorce/a new relationship/re-marriage.
Families struggling with issues involving extended family, e.g. grandparents.
What family counselling offers
Family Counselling is especially for families who are having difficulty managing their relationships with each other.
It provides:
A confidential service unless there is a concern about someone’s safety
An initial meeting to look at the difficulties.
Further appointments arranged between you and your counsellor.
An opportunity for different family members to attend sessions together.

Relate is a national organisation with over 70 years experience in providing counselling for people experiencing problems in their relationships with others. Family counselling is a service which has been developed particularly to respond to family issues.

The service is available free of charge in various locations across north Wales.
